     Computers

A computer is the brains of the operation as it is one of the most important. It brings together all of the different parts of your project into one complete result. Finding a computer that fits your budget while still delivering results, quality, and speed for your film can prove a challenging task. On this page you can find some things to look for in a computer system for you to purchase. Check out our Software page for the must-have software systems to be installed on your computer if you already have one.

The processor will need to keep up with the software you're running on your computer. If you know what your budget is and you will be running high end programs such as After Effects you will need a higher generation Intel processor to keep up.

Storage is extremely important for your project, you need to make sure you have plenty of room. An alternative to storage on your computer would be external storage systems. Those are just as functional and maybe even better. You will want to make sure that you get 1TB at least. If your project is large you will want way more storage.

For an operating system you will want either Windows 7 or 10 or OS X. Choosing between Microsoft's OS and Apple's is a personal preference and just depends on which you find more productive and better. Note: The computers you get will probably only come with one of those as options.
